Dream Com Productions is a company and venture that’s been in formation for years, but is just now becoming a reality. Ideally our ultimate goal is to become an in-store endeavor that sells games, anime, manga, etc, and also has a LAN center and gaming lounge. The way gaming stores like Gamestop and Best Buy work these days is you come in, you get hassled about what you’re looking at, and then it’s pretty much “buy something or get out.” With DCP we want to make a place that’s a haven for gamers and fans of our culture. They can come in, play games, relax, talk with all of us, and interact in a social environment. We also look to give back to the community, and to use gaming’s broad audience and resources to do fundraisers for those in need, charities, organizations etc.

I’ve been a competitive gamer for about 6 years, and started out playing Halo for the Xbox. When I got into competitive gaming that’s really when I kind of fell in love with the gaming community because when you go to events our tournaments, its not just immature people trash-talking, there’s a lot of socializing, and people meet new friends, possibly even love interests. On the surface it seems like you’re just going to this tournament with a bunch of “nerds”, playing a game and being anti-social, but the tournament attendance for video games is almost double most people’s graduating class in high school…nothing anti-social about that!

The stream started off with very very choppy video and after all my tinkering and messing around the stream wouldn’t respond to my encoder.  So after dealing with that for about another hour I finally got the stream working.

I didn’t really get much done this time around. I defeated a big troll-like creature and then went to town and did a couple quests.  Hopefully next stream will be on-time and have less issues.  Hope to see you soon…next stream is looking to be Friday Jan 14th, 2011.

Prototype

Due to issues with Bioshock 2 on my PC I decided to put that off until I re-install Windows 7 and play Prototype.  Bioshock 2 was giving me video issues and I felt that trying to stream that would make the game look horrible.  So at the present time I am about 4 hours into Prototype.  The game is defiantly interesting.  Anyone who asks me about it I tell them that it is pretty much Grand Theft Auto (GTA) on crack.  You are allowed to free roam a huge city and basically destroy most things but what makes this so much better…the fact that you yourself are just one big killing machine.  With the ability to morph your body into different weapons, upgrade your abilities to make you stronger and faster, and even consume other NPC’s in the game and take their identities defiantly makes the game worth giving a try.

Before I started this game I had read a game review on IGN, I think it was, and they had ripped the game pretty good and only gave it a 7.1 out of 10.  So I decided not to get the game…but when I saw the game on sale at Target for $7 I figured what the heck.  Now I don’t know if I totally agree with IGN’s 7.1 rating, but the game is definitely worth a try and like I said above…if you loved GTA then you should love this game.

Bioshock Game Cover

During my last live stream I was able to finally beat Bioshock (See video below also ***spoiler alert***).  Overall I give the game about a 8 out of 10.  It defiantly took me awhile to even get into the game.  I had tried to play the game atleast 3 times and wasn’t to impressed with it and the controls for some reason annoyed me, but this time I stuck through it and was able to finish the game.  Only at a couple of points in the game did I actually get stuck.  I think looking for the big daddy boots was probably my most time consuming part of the game.

As for the final boss, I didn’t really think he was that difficult. I did play the game on the default difficulty so that could be the reason why…but I didn’t really think it was that crazy of a fight.  The ending was also so so, it was kind of a here is what happens over a long period of time in 2 minutes.  So I am kind of interested to see what direction they take Bioshock 2.  Tune in and watch as I take on Bioshock 2.

Dragon Age: Origins

Very sorry for taking so long to get back to this and continue doing one of the things I love to do. Just to let you all know what happend, my wife and I had our 2nd child on April 30th. I pretty much put video games and computer time on the back burner as much as possible to obviously help take care of the kids. I have found some random moments to get in and play for an hour or two here and there, so you will get updates from me on what I do…I will try to get my setup back up so that I can stream on JTV and put video in my blog for those of you who live the video feature.

So enough of that….

My current game is now Dragon Age: Origins.  Now I got this game for my birthday last year and just now got around to actually taking it out of its packaging. I started the game off as a Dwarf Rogue, but I didn’t like the way that was going so I switched to a Elf Warrior/Mage. I will try to get some screen shots up for you all to see.

Currently I am not that far into the game…I went through the whole beginning BS and did the whole battling the Blight…so I am pretty much to the point after that…for all of you who know what I am talking about.  So look for more posts to come soon!  Hope to get going like I was before.

UPDATE:  After reading this a little more cafeully, I must give the people at Final Fantasy Online kudos…Turns out this was a April Fools joke.  So sorry, I do not know if there is a FFIX release in the making.  I do know there is a petition out there though, you can get to it by clicking here.

Final Fantasy IX PC: Special Edition >> Box packaging and discs.

After blunders in the PC ports of Final Fantasy VII and VIII, Squaresoft tries again by releasing a special edition PC version of Final Fantasy IX.

We didn’t think Squaresoft would bother trying again, but they did. After keeping completely quiet about a PC release of Final Fantasy IX for quite some time, even after releasing their Playstation 2 hit Final Fantasy X, Squaresoft recently released new screenshots and disc packaging images of a “special edition” PC port.

While we’re not exactly sure what aspects of the game entitle it a special edition, Final Fantasy IX PC comes with 4 CG-character decorated discs and the screenshots emulate the graphic features of previous PC releases: sharp, smooth 3D polygons over pixeled backgrounds and text. FMV movies are incredibly sharp and appear in a letterbox format, somewhat similar to the impressive video sequences from Final Fantasy VIII. However, Squaresoft says this particular PC release is far superior from its past counterparts, featuring better support for video cards and has enhanced digitally tracked music, leaving the previously used and unimpressive midi soundtrack behind.

So I started off as I usually do, thinking that I am going to suck and just grabing a Galil or Famas and just running around shooting at people, but it turns out I haven’t really lost as much as I thought I had.  My first game back I placed in the top 5 on the team…

This time around I have been just trying to stick to the weapons that aren’t really used much by others such as the Mac10, UMP, Famas, Glock and yes I still use the scout hehe.

But yeah I have actually surprised myself by still being some what decent after taking off over 5 months from the game. Usually I will come back and suck for awhile.

I also have also found a couple of new servers that I like to play on now. They are, of course, office only servers since I really don’t like most of the other maps in the game. If you ip address just leave a comment and I will hit you up.
