Sorry that it has been soooooo long since my last post…so busy and stuff breaking and just have a lot of crap to deal with…but anyways..onto the blog
I saw a post on the Ubuntu Forums for a game night on Sunday Sept 20th for a game called Sauerbraten. Here are some screen shots:

From what I can tell, it looks almost like UT3 or CSS…and apparently the game is pretty popular in the open source community. There are leagues and tournaments just like you would find with CSS. So I will be giving this game a chance. This game does work with Windows, Mac and Linux so that gives it another + in my book for being a cross-platform game. Here are some more screen shots:

Now there is some graphic eye candy to this game but the main intensions of the game was not really to be a graphic heavy game. Here is the description of the game:
“Cube 2: Sauerbraten is a free multiplayer/singleplayer first person shooter, built as a major redesign of the Cube FPS.
Much like the original Cube, the aim of this game is not necessarily to produce the most features & eyecandy possible, but rather to allow map/geometry editing to be done dynamically in-game, to create fun gameplay and an elegant engine.
The engine supporting the game is entirely original in code & design, and its code is Open Source (ZLIB license, read the docs for more on how you can use the engine).”
So give it a try…you might like it:

Sorry I haven’t been as active lately on here talking about games that I have been playing. Been busy or just haven’t played a game long enough to think up something to write about. So after playing CS a couple times I figured I would write about that.
So I started off as I usually do, thinking that I am going to suck and just grabing a Galil or Famas and just running around shooting at people, but it turns out I haven’t really lost as much as I thought I had. My first game back I placed in the top 5 on the team…

This time around I have been just trying to stick to the weapons that aren’t really used much by others such as the Mac10, UMP, Famas, Glock and yes I still use the scout hehe.

But yeah I have actually surprised myself by still being some what decent after taking off over 5 months from the game. Usually I will come back and suck for awhile.
I also have also found a couple of new servers that I like to play on now. They are, of course, office only servers since I really don’t like most of the other maps in the game. If you ip address just leave a comment and I will hit you up.
Here are some more screen shots:

Found an interesting article on a new video game idea that has found itself in beta testing. OnLive looks to be a ressurection of the Phantom. Basically this service will be able to stream games from publishers to your PC, MAC or TV though a plugin device. So this service claims to be a “Games on Demand” provider, but what I really see is all the other downsides of online only gaming.
What I mean by downsides is:
- What if your internet is down?
- What if the whole idea of the ISP’s trying to totally control your bandwidth and what it is you do on the internet?
- What if internet become unaffordable?
- Is this really recession proof?
- Will it be like Counter Strike…Cable vs Modem….lagg..lagg…lagg..Opps your dead…what fun
- Will it be wireless or wired or both?
- How will it affect your connection for the rest of the internet users in the house?
- What kind of compensation will be made when there is constant server maintenance?
- Still trying to figure out how you can “Enjoy ULTRA high-performance gameplay on a entry-level PC…define entry level?
- Will this work like click here to rent game for a week ? or will it be a purchase only type deal?
- Lastly: hopefully they don’t do exclusive only games to force you to buy it!!!

OH! THEY TRICKED ME!!!
Saw a link for SPECS on the system, this is what I got…shows me the awesomeness of this system: (Sense the sarcasim?)

Anyways, if you are interested you can sign up for the beta program by clicking here
